Access to Information Act
The Access to Information Act gives every Canadian citizen, permanent resident, individual or corporation in Canada the right to request access to records that are under the control of federal government institutions, regardless of their format.
Administrative Adjournment
A decision made by the Parole Board of Canada (PBC) to postpone an offender's review for administrative reasons.
An independent decision-making body created by law that makes decisions free from outside influence which affect an individual's rights and liberties.
A charge laid by the police, formally accusing the individual of committing the offence named in the charge. The individual charged with the offence receives a copy of the information.
A request by an offender or a person acting on behalf of an offender for the Parole Board of Canada (PBC) to reassess a rendered decision. The request must be submitted within two months of the original decision date.
